Job Description: Associate Architect
Specializing in Enterprise Architecture AI Initiatives, M&A Infrastructure Assessments, and Patient  Discovery
 
Role Overview
The Associate Architect plays a pivotal role in advancing organizational AI capabilities, particularly within the healthcare sector. This position is responsible for guiding strategic AI initiatives, supporting mergers and acquisitions through comprehensive system assessments, and acclelerating data and AI readiness for expansion our of real-world patient data “engine”. The ideal candidate will bridge technical innovation with practical business outcomes, ensuring that AI solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
AI Enablement Guidance:
             Advise leadership and project teams on best practices for implementing AI solutions across business units.
             Identify opportunities for AI-driven process optimization and innovation.
             Develop frameworks and strategies to accelerate AI adoption while ensuring compliance and ethical standards.
 
M&A Infrastructure Assessment:
             Conduct top-down evaluations of technology infrastructure during mergers and acquisitions.
             Assess AI and data maturity, integration potential, and scalability of acquired entities’ systems.
             Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights that inform M&A decisions.
 
Enterprise Architecture AI Modeling Expertise:
             Design, develop, and validate AI workflows tailored to healthcareand patient data.
             Ensure models are interpretable, reliable, and optimized for real-world deployment.
             Maintain awareness of emerging AI techniques and integrate them into organizational workflows as appropriate.
             Partner with business and clinical subject matter experts to document key workflows, business rules, and success metrics, and use them to validate AI outputs for accuracy, relevance, and operational fit; flag exceptions and help drive continuous improvement.
 
Real World Data Capability Expansion:
             Leverage AI tools and architect scalable pipelines to enhance patient discovery processes.
             Analyze patient data to identify patterns, improve engagement, and optimize care pathways.
             Work cross functionally with research, clinical, and commercial teams to translate insights into actionable strategies.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
 
Technical Expertise:
             Knowledge of AI/ML deployment patterns and MLOps concepts.
             Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and data integration tools; hands-on experience with Azure and Azure Databricks is desired.
             Foundational understanding of cloud networking concepts (e.g., virtual networks/VPCs, subnets, routing, VPN/private connectivity concepts, and private endpoints).
             Foundational understanding of identity and access management concepts (e.g., least privilege, RBAC, service principals/managed identities, and SSO concepts).
             Foundational understanding of security controls for data and AI solutions (e.g., encryption in transit/at rest, secrets management concepts, logging/monitoring concepts, and vulnerability management awareness).
             Solid understanding of healthcare IT systems, interoperability, and data privacy regulations.
 
Analytical Skills:
             Ability to synthesize complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
             Experience in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and performance evaluation.
             Communication and Collaboration:
             Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
             Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and influence decision-making.
 
Healthcare Domain Knowledge:
             Familiarity with patient journey mapping, population health analytics, and clinical workflows.
             Understanding of regulatory and ethical considerations in healthcare AI applications.
 
Preferred Experience
             3+ years in AI architecture or related roles within healthcare or life sciences.
             Experience supporting M&A activities, including infrastructure and technology assessments.
             Hands-on experience with patient discovery platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and healthcare analytics tools.
             Certification in AI, data science, or healthcare IT is a plus.
